Happy Friday!! Another card featuring SNS Somebuggy loves you! Each week in the member forum, there's an inspiration challenge...this week it is using this photo

My dark blue does not show up so well on my card, but I assure you it is blue all the way! My base is Basic Gray CS and pulled dsp from Basic Grey & Echo Park to complete my colour combo! These little ladies are so cute...I wanted to make a motion card, so I stamped and coloured each one a shade lighter. Love the touch of red in the photo so I opted red would be minimal...coloured my pearls with R89! I feel so accomplished! I distressed the edges of the dsp and began to layer my colours onto the base. Fun sketch to work with!

If you look closely, you can see the new heart scallop die offered in a bundle with its partner the star scallop die along with teh coordinating dies hearts/stars. They are so fun to use!

My little bug is coloured using copics and her wings are glittered using the stardust jelly pen! Love the shine and sparkle it gives to the image.

I made this card for SCS colour challenge 359... love the combination! I am also submitting this to ala card Monkey challenge Monkey92 anything goes + sketch...did I say I love sketches? ;-)

I {heart} sketches when I am lacking in my creative layout and design. This sketch is from Splitcoaststampers, SCS368 came in very handy with this cute image...coffee and donuts...mmm..don'tcha just taste it? You & Me is one of the latest releases from Sweet'n Sassy stamps. There are more images that come with that set and they are adorable!

I coloured these little cuties with my copics and lacquered the donut with crystal effects to give it that sticky glaze...oh yum! I wrapped some of my twine for some embellishment and to tie things up a little. The background is embossed with d'vine swirls that reminded me of the steam in the coffee mug.

Girly Girl ~ You're Beautiful!

Happy Monday everyone! Why not begin our week with some pampering with Cookie? Every Girl loves to be pampered, Cookie is no different. She is coloured using copics and her goodies are covered with sparkly glitter.

I simply covered the areas I wanted to sparkle with art glitter adhesive and poured opaque glitter over it. Then I tapped off the excess and allowed it to dry. I circle cut out Cookie and fussy cut out her tail and her accessories. The edges are sponged with ink. The MME dp didn't need much altering so I simply stamped my sentiment onto matching paper and gave it some dimension.

My Complete layout for Our Daily Bread Designs scrapbook challenge ODBDLYLS13. I dedicate this and created this in honour of our Marine son who is pending deployment. We are so very proud of him.

A close up view of the layout...Love this scripture from I Tim. I stamped it onto a transparency using Stazon and fastened it using a star brad from SU. The challenge was to use ODBD stamps be the focal image. I started by stamping my 12x12 with the Old Flag BG stamp then I trimmed it down so I could punch the edges with MS punch. I layered it onto the reminisce dp and reserved the Marine title for the bottom edge. I finally used my CL Patriotic Swag die! I love how it turned out. I topped the edge with ODB Vintage border die. For the 3-D flowers I found this tutorial by a talented scrapbook artist. I sprayed my flowers with Tim Holtz Perfect Pearl mist. I filled the centres with micro beads in patriotic colours to match my scheme.

In December I won a generous pack of Zva pearls, swirls, rhinestones etc...such a happy girl I was to be chosen as a winner from Nicole Martel's blog. So, I was delighted to have picking choice for this layout.

This stamp set caught my eye when it was released and I finally inked it up to make this card. The image has a nostalgic feel and the choice to keep it in brown tones made it an easy card. I played along with Taylor's Inspiration challenge here. Join in the fun!

The warm and cozy feel of the inpiration photo made me think of the set Away in a Manger with the barn siding and the light rays above the baby.

Cocoa's Gift is one of my favourite images of Cocoa...Who couldn't resist colouring this cutie and presenting him at the next party or special occasion?

I paper pieced the gift using Echo Parks Seasons Greetings, used spellbinder dies to cut out my image and also added the fleur de lis accents. The bow on the package is sparkled using the stardust jellyroll pen but it didn't photograph very well. The sentiment is punched out using SU oval punches.

For my first card, I chose Cocoa's Mittens and paper pieced the image using MME paper pad. I cut out the image using the Eyelet Squares die and layered dp onto the snowflake embossed base. I tied it all together using American Crafts ribbon.

For my second card, I used the adorable Cup of Cocoa set. I coloured the whole cup and then added the white snowflakes using my Inkssentials opaque white pen. I cut Cocoa out using another spellbinder die. To bring the colours together, I pulled out my baker's twine, they are so much fun to use.

Kenya has my Heart ~

These people are rich in their love for Jesus ~ the children were precious and full of life and love. Their curiosity to learn, to touch, to see was heartfelt and moving. My heart was moved many times over.

We (seven person team) participated in a four day Churchwide conference in Nakuru. On Sunday morning, we were split into teams to attend the area churches. We were blessed by the receptivity and hospitality of the people. I believe we all came back different!

The city of Nairobi...There was much to see. This Picture is just one out of the many I took. The streets were teeming with people, vehicles of various models, vendors selling all kinds of things from produce, furniture, clothing, flea market items...bartering system. I could tell you stories.

The Gamelands in Nakuru ~ breathtaking! I took this photo from a lookout point where our host took us, while on a safari. What a privilege it was to have the opportunity to do so...

A collage of some of the animals we saw..one of my prayers was to see a lion! We saw NOT one but Two!!! I was so happy.

Now if only my body would revert back to EST...I am not complaining though. It was an amazing opportunity and a blessing to participate in this Missions trip. Thanks for bearing with me ~ I will be back to my cards this week :-)

Love these little pieces of Christmas Cheer! I am not usually into small images to colour but these are so darling, I enjoyed piecing them into a square to fit into the fleur de lis die. It created a festive look with the paper ribbon band.

I love Basic Grey - hands down! I love the festive little packages that fit the card so well. I added gold snowflake buttons to meet my third VSN challenge and layered these itty bitties on gold foil sticker paper.

Happy Friday everyone!! This whole month, we are featuring the adorable Cocoa! For my card, I pulled out Love from Cocoa set since I didn't have any Christmas images of Cocoa to fit the season. One of the things I love about papercrafting is we can always improvise...It is one of the highlights of creating! right?

I coloured Cocoa with my copics and cut him out using my coluzzle circle cutter (Yes, I am old school) Then I mounted that circle onto the spellbinder die. I love that Cocoa's letter is outside the circle.

I hand wrote Cocoa's message to Santa...we all know he's been good all year. I pulled out MME paper pad with Santa peeking from the side! I loved the twinkle in his eye and thought Cocoa's message would be perfect.

Hi everyone! Last weekend, I took some time to play along the SNSS VSN on the company forum. This was my first card I submitted. The challenge was to make a white on white card ~ the only colours were to be on the image you featured. etc.

I love this Christmas light set and the matching die! I don't use it enough. The dies are also very nice to work with to bring texture and dimension to any project you are working on. Love the new die set that SNSS carries called Lacey eyelet border dies.

I have other cards to show you but my blogger is loading them sideways!! ugh! I haven't figured out how to fix it. That would be me, being clueless. And yes, they are turned the right way on my computer.

Cup of Cocoa ~ Snowman Soup

Adorable little snowmen win my heart everytime!!! This particular snowman was just released earlier this month and I coloured him immediately to use in a monocromatic challenge I never submitted. I realized I like the red candy cane too much :-) He can be paired with a cute snowman soup poem also released along with other new digi images, clear stamps, dies and paper!!!

You will notice that I only used a portion of the poem...when it was time to put this all together, the poem could not be found anywhere! When I finally found it, I had already gone ahead to finish the card. So, I pulled out my oval punch and used a portion of it to give it the room and adorable dignity it deserves.

It is Harvest Time ~ SNSDC26

Happy Friday! Fall is here, or was it? Snow is in the forecast for SEPA. I haven't even wrapped my brain around cool crisp days, caramel apples, outdoor fire rings. Either case, I LOVE this new Cocoa digi from SNSS! Every year around this time, we gather in my kitchen and create caramel apples and we have fond memories...

Create a card around a Harvest Theme (use fruit or vegetables in your creation) using any digital image, share it with us by linking it to the tool provided here. Any online galleries please use keyword SNSDC26

Cocoa is coloured with Copics. I used Basic Grey dp and pulled the colours to create my pallete. Adding an organdy bow to the project was the perfect ending.

Get in Shape ~ SNSDC25

Getting in Shape seems to be the message of the hour for me...body pump, aquatics etc...but in the world of papercrafting anything can fly! Even a yummy cake with chocolate frosting!!! Our challenge to you from the Digi Team is to make a shaped card, c'mon put on your thinking caps!

I pulled out a new Cheery Lynn Die that SNSS carries in their store! I love the authentic doily look/feel and why not centre a large piece of Cocoa's birthday cake on it? I was blessed with another birthday this week but no cake, beer bread with almond butter topped with a banana did it for me - LOL!

Here's a closeup view of the cake. I coloured this with copics and found papers that my heart desired and pulled it together with the yummy May Arts ribbon. Pearled the centre and voila!

Another Happy Friday!!! Our Challenge this week is to create a card using Black, 2 designer papers and 3 embellishments...Here is my interpretation using this weeks sketch from SCS. I chose Get Well Cocoa for my main image...isn't he adorable?

Cocoa is coloured using Copics and I pulled out my BG Capella paper pad for my designer paper and embellished with buttons from my stash. The sentiment is punched out with designer label SU punch.

Baby Rhubarb ~ SNSDC23

Time for another challenge over at SNSDC! This week we are challenging you to create a for a baby card using only digital images from any stamp company! If you use any Sweetn'Sassy images you increase your chances of winning free images from the store at the end of the month! Who doesn't like FREE....

I am especially excited to show you the closeup of this card....notice that awesome paper lace? It is a die cut that SNSS started carrying this past month!!! I was so excited to use it on this card.

My card features the "digi scriptures" you can get over at the Sweetn'Sassy Connection if you participate in the weekly scripture challenges. Adorable Rhubarb accompanied this scripture all decked out in soft yellow. My papers are from MME true blue paper pack. Rhubarb is coloured using copics.

Happy Friday!!! These weeks just revolve so quickly! Today our challenge is to use Red, Yellow and Purple on your card...sounds easy enough right? We are all excited to see your creations this coming week.

I used Cookies gift for my focal point. She is coloured using copics, cut her out using one of my favourite dies from spellbinder, texturized some of the paper and added the purple bling! Wow, that's a mouthful.

Happy Friday!!! Today we are featuring border punches on the challenge blog! Use any border punch on your digi card and upload it to SNSdigiblog using the linky tool provided. There are so many punches out there I am excited to see everyone's creations!

I chose Rhubarb picking apples for my card. Isn't he just so cute? For the challenge, I used a MS punch to mimic a fence row. Rhubarb is coloured using copics and the sentiment is punched out using SU punches.

It is Friday!!! How quick another week goes by...Today we have a fun challenge for you! The colours, fun items and the expression of this girl gives alot of freedom to create your card! How about it? My colours did not photograph as bold as the colours in la photo however I was aiming for the aqua colour, which I used on the Cookie teacup. So cute.

Here you have a closeup of my rolled flowers with the pearl centres...Love making those. I used labels nine to cut out my image and combined it with some of MME yummy papers.

Sports theme ~ SNSDC19

Phillies Baseball is where it's at around here! I pulled out a previously coloured Cocoa I had smudged to create my card. I cut off a sentiment from the digi father's day sentiments for my tag. Will the Phillies be the World's Best this year? My husband is always hopeful.

I embossed my background paper with the harlequin CB folder and made a faux banner with coordinating paper. I used stitched ribbon to create a feel of stitching on gloves. The cute buttons were from a stash of odds and ends ;-)

Absolutely love these cone flowers! There is always an abundance growing in my front flower garden. They are beautiful! Aptly named Coneflowers and butterfly this image is as stunning and realistic as it appears. Our Challenge this week is to use White on White background. I love this challenge!

To create my card, I layered textured white layers and topped it off with my coloured image of the coneflowers. I used copics to colour my image and cut it out using spellbinders labels 9. I chose two embossing folders to give the illusion of barn siding with flowers growing on the side...my mind can run I know.

You pick your favourite colour combo and let us see your creations! I chose these papers and colours from a K&Co. paper pad by Tim Coffey...love the deep rich colour palette and made me think of coffee ;-) I embossed the background with the vintage EF and die cut Rhubarb with Spellbinder dies.

Here you get a closer view of Rhubarb holding his cup of joe...mmm, good. I pulled the sentiment from Cocoa's Latte set. I embellished the circle with some dew drops.

Blessings on the Senior Year 2011-2012!!! Seems like yesterday, she was just a baby and a few short years later she graduated from K-5. I made this card in honour of my DD who will graduate this year from her high school career. There is an excitement as she enters this scholastic year which begins next week.

Our challenge to you is to create a "Back to School" card! The only requirement is that you use Sweetn'Sassy digi images. There are alot of options to pick from...alot of new designs and fun images to work with!

I chose Olivia for my challenge card. I coloured her with my copics, cut her out with my circle cutter. I made my scallop rectangle with my punches and combined a die cut for Olivia to sit on a branch waving her pending diploma:-)

Sweet 'n Sassy is live on Splitcoaststampers!!! What an exciting party we had as we kicked off with the unveiling of new images and stamps! Don't forget to use Keyword SNSDC16 when uploading to online galleries.

Framed photo de Famille ~

At Valley Forge's CK Convention, I came upon a stand that was attracting alot of customers! I joined in the look-see and was totally taken with these plastic templates, so ingenious...nothing electronic or computer generated, Just "Shear" creativity! Kiwi Lane Designs in their ingenious created these templates that frame your photos in a beautiful completed look.

Here is my finished layout...I took coordinated MME papers and began to piece my layout and embellished with the flower templates. The 12x12templates interlock so you only need to make one cut...then you always end up with a straight edge on the remainder. I am sure that is clear as mud, right? check out their videos here on their Facebook page. I love how it turned out. I added some bling and used a prima flower to complete the centre of my embellishment.

I made this for our exchange student from a few years ago. Virginie has adopted us as her American famille since she was 14. We have kept in touch over the years and she has been visiting America the last few weeks and we will have a reunion this weekend!!! I am so excited to see her. In addition to her favourie Hershey candies I plan to give her this current photo de famille.

It is Friday and we are challenging you to use lace on your creation. I used the adorable Sew Happy Cocoa for my card. The sentiment is from this set Sew Many Greetings I pulled out papers from K&Co and created a ruffle strip and layered it on my vintage lace that I also ruffled. I love how it turned out.

I coloured cocoa using my copics, cut the image out with my circle cutter and mounted him on spellbinder die. The buttons are from my collection.

This weeks challenge theme centres on Friendship ~ to honour the special people in our lives that add so much to daily living. The encouraging words, support, laughter, trust and humility to challenge us when needed...I love and cherish each one. Why not create a card for such a one in your life? I would spend days making cards if I would attempt to honour each friend...So that said, In honour of friends who bring joy, laughter and blessing to my life, I made this card.

I chose the poppies image for my card, coloured in using copics, die cut the image with my spellbinder die labels four. The sentiment is cut out using two different SU punches and inked on the edges to bring some definition.

Orange, Green & Yellow is our colour Challenge today! Such fun colours for a hot summer...so my thoughts turned to Rhubarb floating in the pool with a cool drink in hand. Happy Friday! Isn't Rhubarb just the sweetest little bear? I love the wave he has created in his arrival over at Sweet n' Sassy Stamps! This image suited me for the challenge this week. Use any digi images from SNSS create a sympathy card.

I recently picked up some papers (in Canada) that have been eluding me everywhere else. I was thrilled with the colour combo, fit Rhubarb perfectly. I trimmed my card with this ruffled trim and used my new spellbinder die I ordered from a local LSS. He is a darling!

SNSDC10 ~ Scripture Challenge

Challenge10 already? It seems just a short time ago we were debuting the new blog! Sweet n' Sassy has a great assortment of digi images and Scriptures in the store. Our challenge this week is to use scripture on your card!

I am using Habakkuk 3:18 from the Rejoice in the Lord digi set. This is one of my favourite verses...when hard times press us, commanding our soul to Rejoice in the Lord might be a challenge but it produces faith, love and peace.

This particular card I dedicate in memory of a young girl (childhood friend of my youngest daughter) who died recently in a car accident. She had just graduated, loved the Lord and ready for what God had for her next...In a moment of weakness, I cry "why?" and then I remember, YET I will praise HIM. Please join me as I pray for her family.

We celebrate Independence Day with alot of well wishes and happiness every year!!! Our daughter has a birthday on that day and always room for cake, presents and surprises. This year was no different...I made this card for her special day!

I love the little banner on the top corner...so festive. I took my star punch and cut off the points to create the triangle. Love how it turned out. I paper pieced the dress and added a rhinestone to her sparkler. :-)

Recently, I fell prey to this little Swiss Birgitta!!! Isn't she darling? I had fun colouring her! I pulled out the sketch from last week SNSDC challenge for this card. I have not been too motivated lately so I thought the sketch would help me along. It only took me five days to finish it. sigh...

Here you have a close up version of the little one...I love her striped leotards! Reminded me of my girls when they were little.

I used Basic Grey for my papers, coloured everything with Copics and cut out the image using spellbinder dies. Embellishment from Michael's dollar bin - cannot beat that! Have a great rest of the week :-)

Summer kicked off on Memorial Day for many but it officially begins on Tuesday according to the Gregorian Calendar we all follow. To help kick Summer into full gear the Sweet n' Sassy Digi Team is challenging you to make a card "All About Summer"

An image from Peaceful Swans provokes me to think of summer days watching these birds on a pond...ahhh. The serene image produces hope and faith in something bigger than what we actually look at. So I pieced two stamps together to form my sentiment...Embrace Hope from the Encouragement scripture set.

I pulled out my papers from October Afternoon to complete this card, these papers offer fun colour combinations. I coloured my swan with copics and embellished with ribbon, lace and jute topped off with a pearl. The swan is die cut using my spellbinder die labels four.

A closeup of this adorable little puppy begging to go fishing! His little fishing hat is complete with hooks and sinkers(?)

I pulled out my Echo Park papers again for this weeks challenge! They are perfect for these masculine cards. For a fun detail, I added this little button with some fine jute. I had to keep myself from adding ribbon here or there. So I settled for this twiny string to hold the little bone. Using another favourite, the spellbinders labels nine was a right fit for this

image. I coloured the puppy using copics :-)

It is Friday and we are in June already!!! Where does the time go? That means the Digi design team have a new challenge for you...Our theme this week is "anything but a card" We all love options and this one truly gives you that. For my "Anything" project, I made this post-it note chipboard cover.

I used Fenton Frog for my image! Isn't he cute? He is holding a sign that says "take note" in my handwriting to fit my project. I coloured Fenton with copics and used a variety of Echo Park's Little Boy line of paper.

Here you have a closeup of the darling frog...ackkk!! did I just call him darling?? On paper he looks harmless enough. I love my bind it all when I have the opportunity to use it...I used the wavy MS punch for the bottom layer to similate water.

I used the Berry Sweet Cocoa for my image and combined it with lots of scallops made with various punches. The embossed background uses Elegant bouquet, reminded me of the tendrils on the strawberry plants.

Cocoa is coloured with copics and the strawberry has white highlights from the signo gel pen. Perhaps I needed to add a shadow under the berry...looks like it could roll or float away. Thanks "berry" much in advance if you have suggestions. :-)

Ahhh ~ Summer by the Sea SC334

A picture is worth a thousand words - Napoleon Bonaparte He also said Imagination rules the world...Well, in my world on this hot day in SE Pennsylvania...I imagine dipping my toes into the crisp cool waters of Northern Ontario where I grew up. It is likely that I would need a spring jacket to sit by the waters...hmmm. Perhaps I will opt for the ocean waters. After all, it is in my world of dreaming and wishing. I love this retired set Summer by the Sea. A classic never dies...this one is that.

I coloured this image weeks ago using my copics and today I decided to pull it into this weeks sketch challenge from SCS. The new dsp Paisley Petals matched this perfectly and combined it with Baja Breeze, Marina Mist and a bit of last years Dusty Durango. The pearls and sheer ribbon added a touch of feminine charm. The sentiment is from Vintage labels.

Prayer for all Armed Forces ~

Dear God ~ for every serviceman and servicewoman, past&present, I ask for protection and favour from you. I lift them up before your throne of mercy that they would be strengthened in the inner man in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. I ask Father that each one would know that you love them and that you see them according to their need. I pray that you would protect and watch over each and every loved one remaining at home. I ask that each servicemen would find refuge in you. I thank you for keeping our men and women in uniform safe under your mighty love and mercy...All the Armed Forces in the United States of America...Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard...We remember those who have gone before and bless their families with comfort, peace and strength. Amen~

Now on to my card...thank you for taking a moment to pray with me for our Armed Forces. As many of you know, our son is a Corporal in the USMC...I pray for him daily.

Guest Designer ~ a la Card Monkey57

Wow! Life is full of surprises.....I was delighted and honoured that my card was featured on a la Card Monkey challenge blog last week! As a result, I was asked to guest design for this week's sketch...

Birthday is the theme this week! The sketch is pretty as is...the yummy cupcake loaded with candles was my inspiration :-) The swirls also provided some blingy input as you can see on my card. And who doesn't love the pretty seam binding ribbon from SU, it ties so soft and pretty to any project.

I used the sending love specialty paper from SU and paired it up with some beautiful sparkle from Prima. I coloured the birthday bakery with copics, cut out each yummy dessert (I know, it's called insanity...I think) and layered it into the dotted designer frame from the sneak peek four frames from SU. The sentiment is from the vintage labels set.

Milton's Good Book ~ SNSDC3

Happy Friday everyone! We are back with challenge 3 on the SNSDC The challenge is to use a button/s on your card. I chose this adorable Milton image reading a good book under a cone flower that provides the perfect shade for relaxation. As always, use Sweetn'Sassy digi images to participate :-)

I paired Milton's Good Book with Echo Park papers and followed this weeks challenge SSS108 Below is the close up version and details on my card.

I coloured my image using Copics, Ribbon and button from my stash. This sketch is quick and easy, I will be using it again.

Smile by the Sea ~ Kid Card sketch56

I love this set from Stampin UP! I inked a few images from these sets recently, to colour using my copics. There has been a resurgence of colouring in my creating...thanks to fun colouring with these amazing markers. :-)

A la Card Monkey sketch challenge this week was this layout plus a kid card. I couldn't help but use this gorgeous stamp for my child card.

I pulled some oldies but goodies from my stash...This Urban Garden paper was one of my favourites! So sad it is no longer available. They continued the yummy colours though, that makes me happy!

Here is a close up view of the little girl. I added the yummy corduroy baja breeze button to my ribbon treatment. The paper eyelet border is one that I fashion using the eyelet scallop punch from SU and I guide it around the circle. It looks kinda scrunchy in some spots but that only adds to the shabby chic look. ;-)

Last Weeks - A la Card Monkey Flowers + Sketch #55

I stumbled upon this fun sketch blog a few weeks ago and decided it was time to play along...They also have a super generous blog candy to give away when they reach 300 followers! How fun is that? The challenge is to follow the sketch and use flowers...

Here is my interpretation of the sketch ~

I chose SNSS's Free Digi image you can find here. But you must hurry, this week's All about Mom challenge ends Thursday night. I coloured my image using copics, then I added crystal effects to the water. (you cannot really see it - sorry) I chose labels 9 diecut to showcase the flowers and layered each piece with coordinating cardstock.

Elegant Fab Florets ~ SSS107

Fabulous Florets stamp set is my new fling in the current SU mini...The embossing folder is to die for and it is calorie free!!! As you can see in the picture, I only used the top portion of the folder on my card. It is beautiful.

Sweet Stop Sketches are always fun to follow...here is my card for this week's SSS107. I pulled out the elegant soiree paper that has been on my paper rack for some time. I am thinking that I am saving it for a special project...recently I've borrowed this idea...use your pretty papers first...akin to eat dessert first. Why not, right?

I stamped the florets with Early Espresso Ink and "coloured" them in by swiping colour from the centre out to give it some dimension. Next, I cut out each floret, then I curled the petals using my fingers and placed them on my card with dimensionals. The centre panel is embossed and I added colour to the raised portion of the flower. I stamped the sentiment from SU vintage labels set.

I pulled out my CB Argyle folder for this card and began layering my CS and various dp I pulled from my stash and scraps...I was aiming for a Phillies Worthy Card for my baseball loving hubby. I love them too :-) Baseball being an All American sport, I threw in the navy, now all I am missing is the hotdog with mustard. lol...Ok, back to the card...

I used Labels2 to showcase my baseball cocoa. Pulled it together with all American ribbon and a star brad. I hope you like it. Cocoa is just too cute.

My next card features the new Mr. Fixit digi...I love this image, it is one of the very few masculine images I own. Thank you Korin :-)

My love for BG6x6 paper pads sure come in handy and they coordinate well. I had a corrugated pack of cards I never used, it worked perfectly into this card! Again, I started this card using my CBfolder (the name escapes me) and "built" my card from there. pun intended. lol.

Tulip, You're the Best ~ SNSDC2

It is Friday and we are back with a challenge for you! This week at Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge we challenge you to get your inspiration from this picture....it really is fun to work with!

Here, you get a closeup version of my card. I love the dimension of layered

images.

I chose the tulip for my focal image and coloured it with Copics. After cutting out my flower, I popped it up using dimensionals. For the sentiment, I pulled it from the new Father's Day Digi sentiments! One of the things that make me smile is the woodgrain paper that resembles the bench in the picture! I used MME's True Blue papers and coordinated with some Basic Grey to pull my colour scheme together.

To give my card some added texture, I used the tulip frame embossing folder. I pulled it all together with the (marthastewart) seam binding ribbon which I absolutely love! :-)

I chose the Poppies for my card and coloured them with copics. I selected papers from K&Co. by Tim Coffey that has an awesome poppy pp. I tried my hand at the ruffled ribbon tutorial on SCS. Next time, I will use a lightweight ribbon for this technique as my ribbon got bulky. Finally, I embellished it with layered buttons. The sentiment is a rubon from my stash. This card also qualifies for this weeks SSS106 over at the Sweet Stop.

You Make My World Happy ~ Eau Claire!

Guess what I found in Eau Claire, WI? This darling Pure Innocence stamp set from MyFavouriteThings! How, you might wonder....our family hopped in the silver bullet (our van) heading West to visit my family in Canada just before Easter. After many hours in the vehicle, we stopped for a gadget at a Sam's club...while there, I googled (you know, just checking...ahem!) to see if there were any stamp stores nearby...alas, there was a treasure trove of stores! aackkk!!!

To my delight, I found these cute stamps! I bought this one, called "being cute is what I do" I could've bought them all but I exerted self control. LOL.

I coloured her with my copics as we were whizzing by Chicago on our way home, in an attempt to calm my nerves...I do not like driving through that city and I am never behind the wheel driving through there. I could drive across the Nation but not in Chicago. Why is that.

Using MME's Tickled Pink pp, the coordination makes it super easy to put together. This paper is so cute! I especially love the birdies looking up at her. She is a cutie and this card does make me smile :-)

I pulled out some Basic Grey paper stacks (an older one called two scoops) that provided the colour scheme I needed! How very sweet indeed. I added the lovely shimmer ribbons from May Arts that I picked up from a local store. Colouring my digi image is a new thing for me...It provides an option for storing stamps - Yay!! ;-)

Love from Cocoa was my choice of Cocoa (hey, they're all cute) and pulled the sentiment from the new Spring Tulip set...I stamped and masked the sentiment the way I wanted to qualify my Cocoa. Isn't he sweet and thoughtful? He looks great with the Echo Park dp and embellished with some Martha Stewart seam binding ribbon. I have been dying to use this fleur de lis spellbinder I bought a few weeks ago for only $2.65 (from one of those big box stores) I frequent with a little piece of paper called a coupon!!! I had a $10 giftcard to spend and I waited to pounce on this until a 50% coupon came around.

Sweet deal, even if I am a year late. Lol.

Sketches Rock! I especially love this one from The Sweet Stop. They have a spin on their challenge this week and you can win a stamp set!!! Who needs another excuse to stamp? So here goes my interpretation of their sketch ~ I love this New Creature set I snagged at the Heirloom show last week! Not only does it have two beautiful winged butterflies but the coordinating scriptures and sentiments are equally pretty!

Here is a close-up view of the layers, flowers and bling from Prima. One of my go to products is the dimensionals from SU, perfect for height and dimension.

The butterfly taking wing amidst the pearls and rhinestones is a picture that God indeed makes all things new...The sentiment reminds me that God's timing is always best. Patience does not come naturally for me.

Love these colours from Basic Grey's Indian Summer paper pad. I love using the 6x6 paper pads for quick colour coordination. I added some shimmer to the butterfly with stickles stardust. The pom pom trim peeking beneath the layers is from my stash.

Enjoy Sketches ~

Love these old time favourites from Stampin UP! This Stamp appeared in a 7pc. set called Sketches in the Spring2003 mini Catalogue. Unfortunately, I don't ever keep sets unless I absolutely cannot part with them. At that time, I was interested in quick and easy - but then copics were not part of my life..;-)

At a local store, I found these being sold individually! Gasp...they are perfect for colouring and who doesn't dream by the seashore under a straw hat? Me, of course minus the straw hat. Ahhhh....I love the serene image and imagine the sounds and smells of the seashore.

I grabbed some bo-bunny paper, velvet trim, prima flowers and a few punches and this is my finished card. I could have done without the glitter pen. It didn't give me that translucent beauty that I imagined, rather opaque and gaudy leaves (blech!) oh well, we all need some shimmer right?

Sketches provide a launching pad for me to create...Lately, I have been colouring images that have been in my stamp cabinet and not seen ink for quite some time! This SSS103 caught my eye and here is my take on it using one such image...

Utilizing my latest fling with copics, I coloured this stamp I bought a number of years ago from Canada. It was created with proceeds going to victims of violence...my heart was so touched by this image that I called my stamping pals and we all placed an order for this stamp, called "It shouldn't hurt to be a child" by Heather's Stamping Haven in Ottawa, Ontario.

I used Marina Mist cardstock as my base and found some BoBunny patterned paper that matched and layered it onto my base. Next I pulled out some Me&My Big ideas matching dp and adhered them onto Night of Navy cardstock. The sentiment is from SNSS Love from Cocoa which was perfect to add to this precious image. I added some chipboard brads on the lower corner from K&Co. So sweet! I love how it turned out.

Good Morning! My Card features dear little Cocoa on a masculine themed card. He is soo cute, I had to think a little....that is where digi stamps come in! These are fun to work with :-)

I chose this digi "Pie for Cocoa" that SNSS sent me when I was featured on their Sunday Spotlight back in the fall. I enlarged the image and printed him out on copic compatible cardstock and coloured him with copics. Using Echo Park papers I bought over the weekend from the SNSS booth, I textured, sponged colours and this is what I came up with. I added twill tabs (aren't they manly?) and tagged my sentiment using Antique Brads from SU.

One of my purchases at the Heirloom Show in Allentown at the ODBD booth....Love this stamp "He shall be called" I used as a background for the Nail cross. Wow, the Name that is above all others - totally indescribable!

Very simple card but yet making a bold statement ~ isn't that who Jesus was, Son of Man and Son of God. I love him.

I stamped the cross with memento black ink and coloured it with my copics. I also took a hint from some of the sweet ladies at SNSS when they coloured their pearls with their copics!!! wow, talk about having options. A girl needs that. :-)

Sweet Stop Sketch with Motivet ~

This adorable Cat and Mouse in the rain are a little under the weather...great time to make friends when we find ourselves in the same predicament ~ hmmm, it does help to have a flourish of pearls and adorable flowers :-)

This image comes from Motivet, I finally got around to colouring this using my copics! Love the bright red umbrella with raindrops falling on it. Check out the little mouse wringing out his tail ~ absolutely cute!!!

Cookies and Cocoa...what could be sweeter? I love this image of our little darling...wow, if I am going to practice colouring with my copics, might as well be this adorable mouse...

Cocoa Crazies challenge (C4CC14) was to add some ricrac to the card....I happen to love this trim, my only struggle was which one to use. What a dilemma! I picked these two, the bottom layer could hardly be called RicRac but I love layering trims, papers, etc...Here you have Cocoa atop some sweet cookies trimmed in RicRac...I just love saying that ~ RicRac.

There are days I envision a card and it turns out better IRL than imagined...and then there are days, I would do better to utilize sketches with delightful eye candy. Let's just say this isn't one of those envisioned cards...

This SNSS set was one of those sets I bought after seeing umpteen beautiful cards by the talented Sugar Babes. Not so sure I did justice but after chopping it up to follow this challenge SC321 I was satisfied. I especially love the yummy satin ribbon in my favourite colour!

C4CC13~Flower Power

Three times a charm....isn't that how the saying goes? I am in a state of shock by now. I think I need another Cocoa to bring me around...now that is cheesy. But suffice it to say, I didn't have poor cocoa anywhere in my collection peeking from around flowers or anything that resembled one, so I made my own, using instructions I found from another blogger here....tada!!! Thanks to blogger friends who are generous with their talents.

Isn't he just darling? I sneaked him in from that adorable take-out coffee cup!! His little paws fit just perfectly around my fancy die (forget the name of it) and peeking over the scallop rose I made. I am giddy with delight that I actually had a sentiment with the word flower on it from the one and only SNSS. I love how it turned out, don't you?

Unbelievable, but don't you just love cocoa peeking out from a donut? Too cute, but only on a card...and don't tell Cocoa I said that.

These cocoa's are so much fun to colour...although I need alot more practice. This one ended up looking like a Mardi Gras donut after I stickled the sprinkles!! oh well, tis the season at least. It fit the Colour Challenge so I grabbed at the opportunity to play along...

This adorable little Cocoa has been my favourite to colour recently....I have been lurking on the Crazy for Cocoa challenges the last few weeks and just couldn't resist this one when I spotted it at a local store! I love anything coffee and this one was on my wish list.

The challenge on Crazy 4 Cocoa blog was to paper piece anything on the cocoa image and this coffee cup was perfect for just that. I mean how do you paper piece a donut? or a strawberry? I needed something easy peasy!

Wedding Congratulations~

I love weddings!!! The promise of love everlasting and the love between a couple is so precious. My 16 year old is involved in a youth group that is close knit and have leaders who love them and walk with them. This was the card I made for the special youth leader couple....then, the music was turned up and the dancing began. What fun!

These flowers are beautiful and so much fun to create! All from a piece of 3x3 paper...mind boggling but such creative fun. I cannot take the credit for it...but thanks to paper crafters who love to share their talent, You can find the directions here thank you Frenchie for sharing your heart with us. :-)

A few weeks ago, a friend from church handed me a bag and said "I thought of you when I saw this..." Inside was a pad of 12x12 K&Co. paper...totally gorgeous!!! It is one of those things that bring a smile to your face when you know someone has clued in to your likes. You can never have too much paper! So, a huge thank you hug to Becky for thinking of me...these flowers were made from that beautiful foil paper of many designs. I have a feeling I will be making many more. :-)

Here she is...at your service! Isn't she cute? I didn't have a sentiment that fit this image from Motivet so I substituted these from MFT... Adorable. I glammed the flower with a rhinestone strip that I had in my stock. The scallop eyelet border is fashioned from the SU punch that I clipped and formed around the oval. It worked, although time consuming. I didn't have a scalloped oval die anywhere. The papers are from K&Co Amy Butler designer mat pad.

Yet this I call to mind...how many times I have to remind myself that God is Faithful. He never gives us day old mercies, they are new every morning! I love my Father ~

This card came together quick as I needed a birthday card for a friend. Using Our Daily Bread scripture set as my focal point, I stamped it with Baja Breeze and cut it out using the spellbinder die labels nine set. Then I cut another piece, the same size on Not quite Navy cardstock, cut it in half and layered it behind the white stamped image. Next, I pulled out this awesome 6x6 paper pad from Basic Grey called cappella. I embossed the whole piece with SU's vintage wallpaper folder...so far so good, then I added another strip of paper on the side and finished it off with these cute paper flowers from Prima. My friend loved her card!

Nurse Doraline~

Doraline and Dexter from Motivet are the cutest critters one might want to colour...I bought this stamp last year at a Rubber Stamp expo. This year I bought another image that will be forthcoming in a card ;-) Plus, I am "patiently" waiting for a package bringing five unmounted images I won in their comment to win draw...Five!

I coloured Doraline with Tombows and finished the card using Cajun Craze cardstock as my base and pulled out my scraps and I embossed, trimmed and inked until I got the look I wanted. Love how it turned out. I glued some dew drops for some balance and tied it all with an organdy bow. Isn't she cute?

Clever Mini Roses~

These little rosettes are genius!

I stumbled across these fabulous little creations on this girl's blog...thud, my jaw hit my keyboard. I grabbed my scallop punch and began rolling these little things and made several in one shot. They look so elegant on a card but I needed an embellishment for a box I made in a stamp class, so here is my finished product.

I made this box using the scallop envelope die from SU! You can find directions here on another clever stamper's blog. Love how it turned out!!! the finished size would easily fit 3x3 cards with envies, fill it with chocolate or gift card...enjoy!

Nostalgic Trade Route~

I bought this stamp when a moment of nostalgia hit me on one of those stamping excursions eons ago...I love the realistic look...you see where I grew up, I use to jump into my aunt's canoe to attend school. My brothers and I would paddle across the little bay and walk the rest of the way to school, otherwise we would be wading in our rubber boots in murky muskeg...a little history lesson.

I started out by stamping this on watercolour paper using versafine ink then I coloured it using prisma colour pencils with gamsol. I wanted to give it more colour so I rubbed chalks to create more shadow and also to create a sunset sky reminiscent of the evening skies where I grew up. I mounted it onto Basic Grey that reminded me of water...I love how it turned out!

Thankful for Antique scallop flowers~

I was delighted to find this tutorial on these how to make these flowers...Loved seeing them in the new catalogue and here was my chance to give it a try!! I have made several of these and added them to little gift bags as an added embellishment.

Take a scallop punch and begin by folding it in half, then again, do this until you have created "hills and valleys" all around, cut to the centre and refold until you have half a fan. Add another half (or third if you desire) and glue together on one of the pleats. Embellish with a brad, a button or another flower...take time to watch the tutorial it will make more sense. :-)

Here is my finished card...I love this new Designer paper Autumn Spice from the SU mini...and I paired it with Always Artichoke Seam binding also found in the mini. Quite simple with a wow factor!

Autumn Harvest Kindness~

Fall is one of those seasons where the heart comes home...pumpkin spices and cinnamon scents and the changing of colours...I love it! I hold my mug of coffee a little closer in the early crisp mornings...my heart is happy. Ok, on with the card...

I loved this set as soon as I laid eyes on it...The sketchy look and open spaces are invitations for colouring, masking and creativity! I stamped the centre pumpkin first and then masked that image and stamped the others around it. Masking is really easy...stamp and cut out the image you want to "cover" using a post it note or regular weight paper...begin to work and stamp other images around it and be intentional to overlap..ta-da! you will have created a scene that wows you..this is a great way to get more use out of your stamps if you don't have many to choose from (especially seasonal stamps)

Using Versafine which is a quick drying pigment ink, I took my tombow markers and began to colour and blend. I love the look. I applied some chalking to create more shadow without diffusing my original stamp lines.

I finished my card with SU Autumn spice paper, some rhinestones, layering SU punches...love it! Almost as good as Pumkin Spice Latte.

Poppies & Greetings~

The creative offerings of talented people on SCS make me want to pull out my stamps, colour mediums and create a card...This was the result of the sketch challenge that was posted this week. Come on, I needed a booster to get me going so I jumped on the sketch bandwagon and created this fun card. I began by colouring this cute poppy flower set from Sweet&Sassy stamps I picked up this summer. Love these flowers!

I pulled out some of my hoarded paper stacks from Me&My Big Ideas, embossed the first layer with SU's Elegant Lines folder which created an awesome texture. I coloured the poppies using Tombow markers layering and blending the colours. I need practice. To finish the card I added some flourish pearls and added some on the panels to create a balance. Love the result.

This set can be found in the first level Hostess sets in the current SU Catalogue. It came as a thank you gift if the demos preordered a colour bundle during the colour renovation. Yay for me!!

I stamped it onto so saffron cardstock and coloured it in using my prisma pencils...and then added more colour using the gamsol technique. It gave it the dimension I wanted. The embossing folder is also from SU...love it. I made this a few months ago for a sketch and colour challenge from SCS. Thanks for looking!

Dusty Kiwi Invitations~

The invitation/response cards

The beautiful bride made these using the SU's Medallion Background stamp and Friends24-7 stamp set...The fonts on the invitation are courtesy of SU! The fun began in January as we looked through the catalogue and idea book...We matched the SU colours closest to her choice of wedding colours from SU's palette of in-colours - Dusty Durango and Kiwi Kiss. We then quickly moved on with the design. What fun and laughter as we looked at possibilities~ the memories are priceless!

The roses were made by rolling paper on a quilling tool, you can easily make one using a pencil or stylus. Apply some glue to the back and allow to dry. I thought the flowers needed some sparkle so I took some of SU's crystal effects and ran it around the petals, then I dipped each flower into diamond dust. The wow effect was enough to make me go back and apply that to every rose...the bride thought I had lost my mind. I promised her I didn't but that the flowers would look lovely glittering on the curly willow.

I have not been blogging for some time, let me know if you are still with me...I have wanted to post these for some time. My daughter got married in July and some of the eye candy is what you see on the left.

We made around 94 of these silver lotus flowers that we used as part of our centrepieces at the reception. I cannot take credit for the idea but found this on the SU! demo forum as I was looking through the latest and greatest creations. You can imagine my excitement when I realized how easy they were to make and how nice they would look on our tables. You can find the directions here

Another great find was from an online tutorial making paper roses...unfortunately the link is no longer available. The original design used felt to make their flowers. So elegant.

When I Pray~

This card was especially fun to create! Basic Grey paper is so pretty I didn't want to cover the design and so, I simply added some sparkle by following the lines. I didn't need to stamp anything on the dp.

I stamped a scripture on a coordinating cs and layered it twice to pull the colours together. I pulled my spellbinder dies to layer my stamped piece, added some bling and ribbon and it was complete.

This is my new favourite from the SU mini...Believe it or not I ordered it so I could colour it. Who does that, you might ask? A woman with copics ;-)

So, I pulled my colours from this pretty BoBunny paper and coloured to my little heart's content. Only, I am never satisfied with my colouring...practice makes perfect they say.

I layered it onto a coordinating DP, tucked in a piece of labels die cut on the side, a strip of vintage lace at the bottom...added a few pearls and I called it good.

A Matter of Moments~

This BoBunny paper shouted exhuberance for life! I picked them up at one of my favourite LSS . Love for paper puts me in a creative mood.

This card began with the layers of coloured paper, die cut, embossed and inked. Next, I chose the 5th Avenue rose that I coloured with my copics.

Upon finishing my card, I realized I had picked up my die cut, coloured rose with ink on my fingers!!! ugh...but the beauty of paper crafting is you can fix as you go, so I added these fine swirly pearls on the smudge. I had to convince myself that it was meant to be there.

Another card I made using ODBD Scripture set. I was aiming for a masculine card and so I used square brads along the top and bottom of the scripture.

The plaid paper is MME sponged with chocolate chip ink after I ran it through an embossing folder. I adhered this onto Bazzil Bling CS that I picked up somewhere. I never used this CS before and discovered that when I folded the paper it "broke" the fibres, leaving it with frayed edges. A little trimming fixed it.

I love these scripture stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs. Not only are they beautiful with the combination of fonts, but I can pair them with any image I want.

For this card I wanted to make the scripture the focal point with an added dimension. I thought this flower from Embrace Life was perfect.

I chose the papers from Basic Grey and sponged the edges, embossed and added the top note die cut for my main image.

I love how it turned out!

Bella Bleu Scalloped Wedding

Wedding bells ring this afternoon for my husband's nephew - scallops, pearls and ribbon were all in the works for this card! One of my favourite "go to paper" is Bella Bleu...the name has a ring of innocent glamour. I paired this with the shimmer white and lovely white organza ribbon! I ran the Manhattan flower through my big shot and added touches of pearls here and there. The little tag is SU's modern label cut in half.

My Dear Kind Friend's Birthday~

Spending the evening with friends is always my kind of fun!! A birthday is always a great excuse to throw a party for casual get-togethers so I needed a quick card! This card came together quickly...I love using flowers for quick coverage and they add the right texture and element to any design. wooo!!!

Here is a close up of the card. A card is never done without some kind of bling...so I added these stones as they were the right colour! I pulled out my spellbinder dies to frame this sentiment. Loved it.
